Misc. Freelance

I’ve been doing freelance for over half my life, with projects ranging from campaign videos to live concert movies to admission videos and many, many things in between. Every single one has given me a new perspective and something to take with me on all future projects, which I’m so thankful for, even when things could have gone smoother.

Videos are selections from many projects and are not all-inclusive.

ToldRight TGR Foundation Spot

One of my favorite pieces I got to work on for Toldright was a case study video for the work they had done for Tiger Woods’ TGR Foundation. I’m not that much into sports, but seeing all the work that was done behind the scenes to get a seamless experience for the viewers and donors was incredibly inspiring, and that’s on top of the work the foundation itself was doing! LPGA All-Access 2021 Promo

This song about the liberating feeling of leaving a toxic relationship was also my first chance to get behind the camera for a little bit of production, traveling with the main crew to film a live performance from the band and gathering materials for both this video and an accompanying behind the scenes featurette. (2022)

I also did assistant/first pass editing for the series, available to watch on YouTube!

Baxter-Christenson Ad

I always love getting to experiment with new animation and visual styles I haven’t played around with before, so I was very game for the construction paper, scrapbooky aesthetic for this piece. (2021)

HBHA Admissions Video

This is a commercial I was asked to make for my elementary/middle/high school for their admissions push. Filming children wasn’t something I had done before, and it was very funny to see how much some of them wanted to play it up when I turned the camera on. (2021)

Collaboration for a Cause

Having lost a friend to suicide, I was honored to lend a hand in the production and promotion of the Collaboration for a Cause initiative in Kansas City, whose mission was to raise awareness and education around gun laws and gun safety, particularly in relation to teen suicide. (2019)

World’s Greatest: Super Docs

Not being that into sports, I was a little out of my element when working with Toldright on the Super Docs series for World’s Greatest, which interviewed and profiled some of the athletes for the then-upcoming Olympic games. This is my favorite of the pieces I worked on, a short video introducing people to 100m runner Wellington Zaza. (2021)

Joy Koesten Campaign Video

It was a very new and interesting experience creating campaign videos for a local Kansas City politician, especially since I tended to skew more fun or lighthearted with my work at the time I was working on this. However, I think for my relative inexperience, this and the other videos I made for the campaign turned out pretty well! (2018)

LIXIL Factory Tour (Internal)

One of a series of videos I made for American Standard/LIXIL, this tour of their Aguascalientes factory was a bit of a challenge because a lot of the footage was in Spanish, so it needed to be localized. On top of that, I was working within brand standards and with notes/feedback that didn’t always come from creative-types. Despite the hurdles, I’m very happy with how all the videos in this series came out. (2021)
